In Alabama, nurse aide classes are OBRA-87 approved 75 hours long. An individual can complete these classes in 4-10 weeks depending upon the program providing institutions. The program classes consist of theoretical classroom instructions, lab program, and hands-on experience. The program programs are offered in schools, community colleges, trade schools, adult education centers, and technical institutes of the state. Individuals will have to complete clinical program in the state-approved health care facilities. The program is completed among the residents and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The course curriculum for the Alabama CNA classes includes general and nursing courses. The successful completion of the program program makes a candidate eligible for the state-approved certification exam.

However, prior to admission to schools and colleges for the program, individuals must complete few additional prerequisites required by the state law and program institutes. These requirements include:

  • The minimum age of the applicant should be 16 years.
  • Applicants must pass the criminal background screening.
