Every applicant should meet the below given eligibility criteria before applying in an RN school.

  • Students who are 18 years or above and possess a high school diploma are eligible to apply for the program program.
  •  You should submit residency verification form.
  • It is necessary for the aspirants to submit level one fingerprint clearance card.
  • It is obligatory to clear the criminal background check and drug test.
  • S/he should be proficient in English and possess excellent communication skills.
  • The candidate must provide his/her photo ID and valid e-mail address.
  • Student should clear TEAS-Test of Essential Academic Skills, which is conducted by most of the institutions.

Education/Courses

Educational requirements for RNs vary as per their career goals. They can select bachelor or associate degree or diploma to start off their vocation.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing: An associate degree prepares competent RNs who can work proficiently in modern healthcare sector. The curriculum covers all the requisite aspects in two years. Throughout the program, the candidates experience rigorous laboratory and clinical practices and learn new technology for delivering improved services.

  • Accelerated BSN Degree: The accelerated program focuses on developing expertise, dexterity and values that are necessary to work as a registered nurse in today’s competitive world. It is basically designed for those aspirants who hold a bachelor degree in a discipline other than nursing. It’s a fast track program that takes 16 months (approx) to complete.
  • LPN to RN: A bridge designed for licensed practical nurses who aspire to become a registered nurse. This program refines their previous skills and experiences and builds a strong foundation for future, which in turn, brings better job prospects.
  •  RN to BSN Program: This program offers a bachelor degree to working RNs who hold an associate degree or diploma in nursing. This program gives a boost to their career and upgrades their knowledge.

It is mandatory to complete any of the above programs successfully in order to appear for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and earn the registered nurse licensure.

  • Master of Science in Nursing: MSN degree develops the ability to integrate advance knowledge into specialized areas such as nurse administrator, nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist, adult-gerontology nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner.
